DWCRC female inmates receive quality health care services through the medical staff, allied health personnel and consulting physicians. The Medical Department is managed by a medical services director (a Registered Nurse), with a clinical director (a physician) supervising medical practice at the facility. DWCRC contracts for physician services, hospital services, emergency services, laboratory and x-ray services. Prescription medications ordered by a physician for the inmates are provided through a contract with NDSP. Over-the-counter medications are available to inmates for purchase in the commissary. Optometry services are provided at least MONTHLY. Dental services are provided BI-MONTHLY and as necessary.
